The bitonal Symphony of the German-Dutch composer Julius Röntgen is rarely performed. X not belied his origins. Leipzig was his birthplace, the concertmaster of the Gewandhausorchester his father, and a handful Mendelssohn-, Schumann and Brahms apostles teachers: Carl Reinecke and Franz Lachner.
