The magnetic Argentine cellist Sol Gabetta lit up the night on August 5, 2015, with a silvery showpiece spun from Russian tunes by Adrien François Servais, “Fantaisie sur deux Airs russes,” with accompaniment from pianist Ilya Yakushev. Glazunov’s arrangement of Chopin’s Etude in C-sharp minor, На. 25, Немає. 7, and the Allegro from Shostakovich’s Sonata in D minor, На. 40, were performed as encores.
