1. Because we take our Mexican food VERY seriously:
It’s the best Mexican food you’ll find that’s not, well…actually in Mexico. (Although that’s readily accessible too, gewoon FYI.)
2. But we’ll still admit that the California burrito — carne asada + fries — is what dreams are made of:

3. Because we know a thing or two about good beer:
SD is de thuisbasis van bijna 100 breweries — including AleSmith, Ballast Point, en Stone Brewing Co. — and has been called “The Craft Beer Capital of America.”
4. Because we’ll never outgrow the San Diego Zoo:
Ja, We gingen er op excursies als een kind. Nee, we’re not afraid to admit that as adults, we nog steeds hou ervan.
5. Because we can wear flip flops all the damn time:

8. Because Gaslamp Quarter is a playground:

9. Because Horton Plaza looks like it took a page right out of a Dr. Seuss boek:
Find me a shopping mall that’s more aggressively vibrant than this one.
10. And because Petco Park is downright gorgeous:
Never mind that we rarely fill all the seats and that the Padres haven’t won the pennant since 1998. It’s still a lovely place to see a ballgame, OK?
11. Because our signs run the gamut:
There’s something for everyone.
12. Because you can ditch your car for the day if you need to:
voor een keer, it’s not the end of the world if you don’t have a car. Van trolleys treinen, if you just don’t feel like dealing with the traffic downtown or the big game bottleneck at Qualcomm, er zijn manieren om rond te krijgen.
13. Because with 70 mijl van de kust, there’s always something on the water:
Like the massive USS Midway.
14. Because Balboa Park is bigger than Central Park:
Met kunstgalerijen, tuinen, De Wereldbol, de dierentuin, en meer dan een dozijn musea.
15. Because beaches are never far:

16. And if you get tired of those, alles is gewoon een eindje rijden:
Vanuit de bergen, de woestijn, naar Disneyland; Voor een snelle weekendtrip buiten de stad, SD is een goed uitgangspunt (en eindigend!) punt.
