I september 1991 the Metropolitan Opera celebrated it’s 25th anniversary at Lincoln Center by performing three different acts from a selection of popular Met productions. I slutakten (handle II af Flagermusen) der var nogle specielle gæstespil af meget berømte opera stjerner.

Two of those guests were Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti doing an unusual duet for two tenors. De sunget “O Mimì, Tu Più Non Torni” from Giacomo Puccini’s opera “La Bohème” hvorved Domingo synger del af Marcello.
