Queen Elisabeth Competition Cello 2017: Dvorak Cello Concerto No. 2 (Yuya Okamoto)

Albert Sung Published on Jun 1, 2017
Today really is the day of CD quality performances. This is a very intelligent person with great technique. He has one of the best set of skills of all participants. We saw perfect intonation, almost flawless. He exhibited perfect communication with orchestra. He knows how to get the orchestra to follow him by sending the right signals, accents, pauses. It is a great performance, but too clean for me. I don’t know, but in 10 years I will already have forgotten him… But my score will be high: 8.7/10.
