DEDICATED TO THE IRANIAN REFUGEES IN THEIR ICY COLD SHELTERS FLOODED BY WATER
This is the main theme of the original soundtrack of the 1993 Steven Spielberg’s film. It was composed by John Williams, and features violin player Itzhak Perlman. The album won the Academy Award and the BAFTA Award for “Best Original Score” and the Grammy Award for “Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media”. It was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award. This theme is one of the most recognized contemporary film scores, particularly the violin solo. Many high-level figure skaters have used this in their programs, including Katarina Witt, Irina Slutskaya, Johnny Weir, and Yulia Lipnitskaya.
European TV ARTE broadcasted this live event at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, performed brilliantly by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel and a moving performance by Itzhak Perlman as violin soloist.
