Plácido Domingo & Luciano Pavarotti – O Mimì, Tu Più Non Torni.
In september 1991 the Metropolitan Opera celebrated it’s 25th anniversary at Lincoln Center by performing three different acts from a selection of popular Met productions. In the final act (act II of Die Fledermaus) there were some special guest performances by highly renowned opera stars.
Two of those guests were Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti doing an unusual duet for two tenors. They sung “O Mimì, Tu Più Non Torni” from Giacomo Puccini’s opera “La Bohème” whereby Domingo sings the part of Marcello.
James Levine is conducting.
