The magnetic Argentine cellist Sol Gabetta lit up the night on August 5, 2015, with a silvery showpiece spun from Russian tunes by Adrien François Servais, “Fantaisie sur deux Airs russes,” with accompaniment from pianist Ilya Yakushev. Glazunov’s arrangement of Chopin’s Etude in C-sharp minor, Op. 25, No. 7, and the Allegro from Shostakovich’s Sonata in D minor, Op. 40, were performed as encores.
