Only Ever Mariinsky Theatre Corsaire Pas Deux Olesya Novikova with Filipp Styopin

Olesya danced Corsaire pas de deux in a foreign gala with her husband, Leonid Sarafnov, but never danced at Mariinsky Theatre in Corsaire pas de deux, although this was at the Mariinsky Theatre Concert Hall and not the historic Mariinsky Theatre. Leftovers are better than nothing, so everyone, including Olesya were blessed by her wonderful performance on April 27,2012. as well as her outstanding partner, Filipp Styopin.
Olesya never danced Corsaire pas de deux again and has never danced Medora in the full length ballet. It will be interesting to see if Olesya gets a chance on September 10 when Corsaire Jardin Animee is danced as a one act ballet and when it is in a one act ballet, there usually is a Corsare pas de deux with a 2nd Medora, such as happened in Yulia Makhalina’s February 22,2009 gala, when Makhalina danced Medora in Jardin Animee and Ekaterina Osmolkina and Andrei Batalov danced the Corsaire pas de deux. Olesya has a chance for both Medora roles and having never danced Jardin Animee, i hope she will do Jardin Animee and another great ballerina deserving her Medora debut, like Osmolkina or Batoeva, get to dance Medora in the pas de deux.
