Antonín Dvorák: The Golden Spinning Wheel
Dvorák’s heroine Dornicka sits somewhere between Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. In his symphonic poem The Golden Spinning Wheel she is horribly murdered by her stepmother. But with plenty of wizardry, an attractive king and a prime spinning wheel is all good anyway.
