Who other than Daniel Barenboim (now 72 years old) displays such mastery over Beethoven’s piano music with the possible exception of Andras Schiff, Brendel or Uchida?. The “Pathetique” sonata is displayed here from a circa 2004 Berlin performance.The name was actually brought forth by Beethoven’s music publisher at that time.
